Maintenance Technician
Location: Grand Prairie, TX, 75050
Rate Range: $24/hour to $25.84/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. (Overtime eligible)
Shift Options:
- 1st Shift: 5:30 AM – 1:30 PM, Monday to Saturday
- 2nd Shift: 1:30 PM – 9:30 PM, Monday to Saturday
- 3rd Shift: 9:30 PM – 5:30 AM, Sunday to Friday
- (All shifts require a 75-day probation period with contractual shift preference adjustments afterward.)
Position Type: Long-term contract with potential for direct hire
Job Description
The Maintenance Technician will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of production machinery and plant facilities. This role requires diverse technical expertise, hands-on troubleshooting, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform installation, maintenance, and emergency repairs on production machines and plant equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and work orders to perform required tasks.
- Diagnose machinery problems using root cause analysis techniques, replace or repair parts, and test adjustments.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, meters, and shop machinery to complete repairs.
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations and ensure clean and organized workspaces.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Completion of a craft apprenticeship or equivalent education and production maintenance experience.
- Enrollment or completion of a 2-year Associates Degree/Technical College program in Industrial Mechanics, Electrical, or Automation.
- 3+ years of experience as a maintenance technician with expertise in:
- Electrical AC/DC systems
- Hydraulics and pneumatics
- Mechanical applications and power transmission systems
- Fluid mechanics, tubing, and hosing
- Mobile equipment operation and machine safeguarding
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with PLC and ladder logic troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with robot teach points and programming codes.
